So I was thinking, wouldn't it be cool.. if two of Ubisoft's upcoming IPs were linked story wise?

As I've seen more and more videos of watch dogs, I'm beginning to see that Watch Dogs is suspiciously similar to Assassin's Creed gameplay wise and premise wise(as in the current world conflict between Assassins and Templars).

Watch Dogs may not feature the same combat or even the climbing antics of Assassin's Creed. It does however, at least to me, seem to closely resemble what a future set assassins creed game would look like, you aren't Desmond so obviously you don't have Desmond's experience in the animus, you would just be a soldier amongst many.

Maybe you're out in the field, hacking systems to provide information about the ctOS, or free the people from their watchful eye. That in itself, in my opinion seems like a very Abstergo like plan, to spy on the people in order to control.

It would be such a cool idea if Assassin's Creed 4 provided the story link, maybe finish up Desmond's story in such a way that watch dogs can easily slide in, not as an Assassin's Creed game, but as a new IP set in the same universe.

Ubisoft would be able to have its own fictional universe (DC and MARVEL style) and they would be able to continue making assassins creed games set in multiple historic settings. We've already seen hints to a universe like this in Farcry 3, another recent Ubisoft game. They wouldn't have to worry about Desmond's story any more, as watch dogs would be continuing the present day conflict between Assassins and Templars.

Just my thoughts but this would be amazing.
