14 - Halo 3
The 14th best game of this generation is Halo 3 for Xbox 360. Halo 3 came out in 2007 and was developed by Bungie. Halo is Xbox's top franchise ever since the release of the original Xbox. It is one of the biggest series in gaming and is a big reason for the evolution of FPS games. Halo 3 was the first Halo game on Xbox 360 and it did not disappoint. Halo 3 sustained the standard from the previous game.
Halo 3 was the end to the Halo Bungie trilogy, so the story was in full swing and it made for a very enjoyable campaign. Halo 3 was the first Halo game I owned personally and it was one of the first FPS games from this generation that I though had a good story. The campaign was good but everyone knows why you get Halo! For the Mulitplayer!
The mulitplayer is the reason why many people play Halo and for good reason it is some of the best multiplayer you can play. The gunplay is top notch and it feels good in a matter of seconds after grabbing the controller. The maps are all different and and works well for multiplayer. Overall the multiplayer is second only to Call of Duty in this generation and will continue to be most likely into the Next Generation of consoles.
When I went and bought my Xbox 360 back in 2008 I was allowed to get 3 games for my 360. I was not sure what to get besides one game, Halo 3. Halo 3 was the game you needed to have with your Xbox 360 and in my opinion still needs to be the one game you need for the 360. The Xbox 360's top exclusive is Halo 3 and it is not even close. It may not have had as big and impact as the original Halo but It still is without a doubt one of the best games this generation.
There is my #14 best game this generation be sure to check in tomorrow, November 3rd for #13. Let's just say it shares a lot of similarities with Halo.
