Today, Square Enix sent out a press release saying that the much asked for Final Fantasy 7 remake is indeed real.
Rumors have been circulating since 2006 when Square released this PS3 tech demo at Sony's E3 conference.
After much fan response, Square has finally confirmed that this remake is indeed real, and is coming out this year.
This is from Square's press release, that I may or may not have gotten by hacking into their servers.
"We at Square Enix are proud to announce that there is a Final Fantasy VII remake in the works, at it will be completed and released by the end of this year. Fans have been begging for this since we trolled them with that PS3 tech demo, and we're glad to finally make their dreams come true.
Final Fantsy VII's remake will be available for 360, 3DS, Window's Phone 7 and Wii by Holiday 2011."
I've never played much Final Fantasy 7. Heck, I've only gotten about two hours into it at the most. That said, I'd gladly play a remake that enhances the graphics and makes the gameplay fun. ...And hopefully they'll do away with those stupid random battles.
And now that I think about it, they could change Cloud a little to make him actually look like a dude. And Sephiroth.
Is anyone else planning on picking this up?
