The lights are on
do u remember The Matrix games that came out years ago? many ppl will say no on account of them hating the iterations that spawned from the Wakawski Brothers sci fi hit(or miss) from the theater. but i remember them, and i have to say, the series had much potential for a whole slew of remakes and The Matrix: Path of Neo was or at least should have been the start of a series overhaul.
Path of Neo, for those of u who didnt get to play it for whatever reason, followed Neo, the stories hero exclusively throughout all three Matrix movies. my problem is this with the game, why didnt they do this in the first place? the game was awesome in my opinion. it had solid gameplay that made me feel seriously endowed with power, right from the get. granted in areas i felt out of place, such as the world where im for sum reason fighting giant ants with guns in a reversed world, or helping the gate keeper, when i know he's supposed to die in the movie, but not in the game. ugh, beyond that i have no serious gripes with this game. oh wait im lying, the ending SUCKED!!!, worse than the movie actually.
i mean u tie in sum air fighting mechanics and a few cutscenes but that doesnt help at the end of this game, although i will say the aspect of fighting a giant Agent Smith seemed very appealing at first. then.... ugh, anyway the game has its moments, both for sucking and for wowing. i find it to be a combination of both and i would say to those who hate the series to at least give it a try and see for themselves that this version of the story is ok at best. like i said it has its moments like sum of the fight scenes r epic and straight out of the films.
others can be a bit bizarre but they translate well into the action thats going on at the time.
then there r those classic ones that u actually enjoyed seeing from the films.
so what happened to this series, we all remember The Matrix Online and its obscureness, the first console matrix of Enter the Matrix and now most currently, The Path of Neo, not to mention the Animatrix series. but what happened here, where did the series go wrong? sum may say the second movie did it, sum may say the Matrix online canned all hope for this series, personally i say the last movie did it for me, i hate movies that try to borderline religion and there was alot of that in The Matrix over all. but not only that, the way the fight between Smith and Neo climaxed and ended so quickly. i mean i was expecting a "fight like no other" when Neo when to Mega city to face what i thought was going to be every single Smith in the universe, instead he fights one only and that one kicks his chops, terrible. annnnyway yea, gamers and luvrs of this series alike, if u havent played a matrix game since Enter the Matrix and u have just lost ur desire too, at least check this game out. The Matrix Path of Neo for the PS2 or Xbox, yea its old but its better. it may not win u over but u can at least see the ambition.
so sad.
dude! i think that it was a good game. i enjoyed it. to bad they didnt come out with something new :( i was really looking forward for a Matrix game to make it to a next gen system.
likewise.
Path of Neo, like you said, was just an ok game, but didn't have any replay value to me or any lasting entertainment. I made it as far as the last lvl where you have to fight the giant Agent Smith, which was a pretty stupid concept, so I quit the game right there and never played it again.
Enter the Matrix was just trash, thankfully I just rented it, and I never played the Matrix Online. I had some hope for that when I first heard about it a long time ago, but after seeing reviews, lost hope for any video game that had to do with the Matrix.
And as for movies, I only liked the first one :)
agreed.
Oh, and I have never seen the Animatrix, is that any good at all??
@Bioshocker The Animatrix was awesome. They should have at least made a final Matrix game based on all of the Matrix movies (like Path of Neo) but you could choose what character you want to be, Neo, Trinity, Morpheus, Ghost, Niobe, and Seraph. The game would take you to Zion, and the Matrix. You can explore wherever you want, It would be kinda easy to get lost, probably like in THE SIMSPSONS GAME. Anyways, You can fly (FINALLY) as Neo, pilot vehicles as Niobe (like in ENTER THE MATRIX, and walk into places, like in The Simpsons Hit and Run, The Simpsons Game, and Spiderman 2. You can also fight in online battles for up to 8 players, the Zion wars would be 20 or 18 players. You would also have a choice to customize your wardrobe. The game would be called "THE MATRIX UNIVERSE" or "THE MATRIX TRILOGY"
