Namco Bandai announced today, the they are working with the developers of TimeShift on a new third-person shooter slated for release sometime next year.

The game will feature a weapon called the 'Grappler' which will allow the player to manipulate gravity. Players will be able to use the device to move heavy objects around or expose hidden enemies. Some levels in the game will even require the player to alter the way in which the world around him behaves in order to progress through that specific area. Inversion will also employ a cover system with destructible environments, similar to Gears of War.

The game will take place in the not-too-distant future, following the invasion of a mysterious enemy called the Lutadore. Players will take the role of either police officer Davis Russel or his neighbor, Leo Delgado, as they set out in search of Davis' missing child.
