Why run?

I run because it is a passion
because when I run the whole world is my element
because the earth falls beneath my feet
because a great expanse of land is conquered in seconds
because it is my destiny

I run because my body is a machine
because I can
Because as long as I will it, I can keep going
Because my muscles will endure all
because no matter who you are, when you run a mountain is a hill

I run because,nothing can catch me
because the world is beautiful and I can see all
because one misstep can be fatal
because I no longer face wind, I am wind
because it is my instinct, my very being

I run because it is my core, a passage way to tranquility
a piece of mind, a purification of my body
it is an avenue in which all is possible
because if I were to run fast enough, I would tred the ocean, cross the world

I run because I need nothing else
because all the pleasures in the world are expressed through my feet
because if I don't the world closes in, its gravity refusing to let me go
because I am bound to it, and nothing is its equal
because it is limitless

I run because it expects nothing back
because it exilirates the body
because through all this I am its willing captive,
and if I were to be set free, I could not exist,
my essence would evaporate,
my entire being would mold back into the ground from which it came,
never to be seen again

why do I run?
because it is me
and i am it
