The lights are on
Veteran Member - Level 13
I have said it once, and I will say it again; GIO has some of the best undiscovered talent I have come across. The blogging community alone is filled with outstanding writers. This is also for the wave of newer members we seem to be attracting, letting them know who to watch out for.
I just picked up Borderlands, so I may not be as active in the next few days. I thought this would be a good read to tide you guys over until I make my triumphant return
This list could be much more than a top 5, but I thought I would limit myself. If you aren't on this short list, don't stalk me and cut out my throat with a spork. I dislike you all equally. Let's get started.
In no particular order...
Saint - He is probably on everyone's list of favorites. I still think it is a wonder that he doesn't have a job with GI. Many consider him the Official Leader of this website. He does Blog Herding every Thursday, Member Herding every month, he is a military fellow, and to top it off, he finds time to write quality blogs. He researches what he writes, his opinions are well thought out and explained, and he is familiar with grammar and punctuation (which is always nice to see on a website that features public blogging). His blogs are always interesting to read, and always make me think about my stance on the subjects he tackles. Plus, he is a pretty nice guy.
Oni No Tenshi - Oni is awesome, plain and simple. It is refreshing to read the stance of a woman and a parent on the topics she decides to blog about. Believe it or not, they differ from those of a male. Who knew? I don't know her personally, but she seems like a strong, educated gamer who looks at and sees all sides of a subject, and weighs them accordingly. She has her own opinions, of course, but she is open-minded and accepts the views of others. Again, very refreshing in this setting. If I had to pick someone out of everyone on GIO to get to know better, it would be Oni.
Anticitizen-One - Before you read one of his blogs, make sure you have some spare time to kill. He writes novels for blogs. But, it's all purposeful. A1 does his research and explains things like nobody else I have come across. He is very clear in his points, and you always know where he stands after reading one of his blogs. You can tell by the way he writes that he takes the time and is fully committed to what he chooses to write about. Oh, and he is a huge Rockstar fan, so he gets a +98147 points in my book. I don't know why he isn't a featured blogger on the main page... he definitely should be.
Le Hannibal - I hate this guy with a passion. I joke (mostly). I always enjoy reading Hanna's blogs. He is passionate about what he writes about. He is pretty knowledgeable on things regarding Batman if that's your thing. Hanna and myself will be co-blogging all next month, and it will truly be an honor for me to share the page with him. I wouldn't have taken up the task if I wasn't a fan of his. I can honestly say that, despite our difference in tastes, I enjoy conversing with him. He is mah bestest frayund here, and everyone should read his blogs. You'll be glad you did.
AshaMan3000 - He just returned after a hiatus of sorts, but he hasn't lost a step. The topics he chooses to write about, I would never think of. He writes informatively, and always adds his own personal comedic stylings. Usually he makes me really lol to a point where my wife asks me what is wrong with me. By his own admission, he comes and goes. I hope he sticks around for a while, because I enjoy every blog he does. From drugs in games to a role in a post-apocolyptic world, everything he has done has been engaging and interesting to read.
Again, if you aren't on this list, don't despair. I read all of the blogs I can, as I find them more interesting than what the GI Staff writes about (usually). Everyone adds their own little something to this site, and has carved out their own little corner to call their own. Good job guys. Now, if you'll excuse me, Borderlands is calling.
