The lights are on
Power Member - Level 6
Hello and welcome to the first entry of a new series of blogs I plan to do for Pokemon X, I'm doing X because I like the legendary more in this one than the other (what is the Legendary in Y suppose to be anyways like X is clearly a Deer but Y?...) Anyways I'm sure you're not here for my ramblings so to sum it up I waited 6 days after the game's release to make this so others got a chance to play so I don't spoil any new pokemon. There will be no storyline shared just items, pokemon, and where to go (names of areas basically when necessary sometimes the game makes it so there is no other choice). So let's begin! :D
As usual as you start you are introduced to pokemon in case your incompetent and don't know what a pokemon is. This is done by our new Professor Sycamore in the Kalos Region where the adventure will take place. You choose to be a boy or girl and one of three customized trainer presets. I chose girl and the preset of the pale girl with blonde hair and blue eyes. My character of course I name Isabele.
You start in your pajamas so go to the mirror to change and down the stairs after some conversation outside to meet the neighbors who I just can't remember the name of. The storyline basically tells you what to do next head down the simple yet beautiful Route 1 to the next town to get your first pokemon.
Alright some storyline character introductions to people that just don't interest me at all...some big guy that supposedly dances real good, a smart nerd kid, overhyper chick, and average guy yay (intense sarcasm there)...anyways you choose your nickname (I chose Kitty) and get to choose a starter. The options, which I'm sure you've heard of by now, are:
Chespin far left, Fennekin in middle, and Froakie on the right end.
Fennekin: (I can't get the others descriptions :( ) Eating a twig fills it with energy, and its roomy ears give vent to air hotter than 390 degrees Fahrenheit.
I chose Fennekin because I just love the cuteness of that fire type fox. It starts at level 5. I'm not sure about the evolutions because the game is rather new so we'll be skipping that sort of information for this playthrough (even with older pokemon just in case you never know they might change it, right? ok I doubt they will but still :D ). I nicknamed my Fennekin the name Mirakami which I made up (Mira from Mirajane in Fairy Tail [a anime I love], and kami from Okami in Okami [a PS2 and Wii game I have it on Wii]). The starting moves are Scratch (claw the target), Tail Whip (lower the opposing teams defense), and Ember (blow fire at the opponent).
Pokedex: a database of stats, information and pictures of Pokemon saw and/or caught
After getting Fennekin soon after your given a Pokedex and a letter for your mom. Time to back track. Before that if you want there are two side things you can do. One is the Pokeamore which allows one to increase their friendship with pokemon by giving it pokepuffs, petting it, talking to it, and playing mini games with it. The other thing is a training that allows stat boosts to make gameplay easier. I will be using Pokeamore and Training. However I am limiting the training to just enough to reduce monotonous grinding of levels. So Fennekin went through 2 stat boosts for each category and one more for HP. My other pokemon (future reference here) one for HP, Attack, and Defense at least and maybe one Sp Attack or speed. Nothing more to keep the challenge in the game.
Potion: heals 20 points of HP on one pokemon
Alright since you start the game pre-equipped with running shoes run down the stairs before leaving town to talk to the person running back and forth near the stairs to get a potion then back track home, as you leave town you do a trainer battle pokemon is healed immediately after by the trainer you battled. Talk to your mom and you get a Town Map (A very convenient map that can be viewed anytime. It even shows you your present location in the region.). Now before this when you start the game you have online stuff for friends and that passing by people thing (forgot the name of it). Anyways that online stuff don't apply to me because I'm not using it except for the Mystery Gift which is obtained online of a Torchic holding a Mega Stone. Only reason I mention is I saved exited and before resuming got it sent in game. It awaits at a pokecenter where ever that may be first found. I'll mention more about the Torchic when I get it. Just thought I'd throw that info out in case you wonder.
Pokeball (left): A device for catching wild Pokémon. It's thrown like a ball at a Pokémon, comfortably encapsulating its target. Premier Ball (right): A somewhat rare Poké Ball that has been specially made to commemorate an event of some sort. (Obtained by buying 10 or more pokeballs at the same time)
Ok at this point I goofily bought 10 pokeballs (and got a bonus Premier ball :D ) if you wait and go up a little in the next route past the town you get your pokemon in to move forward one of the neighbors gives you 5 pokeballs and a tutorial on catching pokemon. For safety of being able to heal I ran forward to find out where the earliest healing spot is well before you go into the forest (next area off the route) there is a trainer battle. Then you enter the forest and the neighbor you battled earlier tells you they will heal your pokemon. So back track to grass for catching and enter forest when need healing. Ok well when I first entered the forest though due to distraction there is an item in eye shot it's a potion.
Weedle: Often found in forests and grasslands. It has a sharp, toxic barb of around two inches on top of its head.
On Route 2 I caught a level 3 Weedle who I nicknamed Teran (another made up name based on name Terra from Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep [PSP game]). His starting moves are Poison Sting (shoots a poison stinger at the target, might cause the target to be poisoned), and Sting Shot (lowers the target's speed).
Pidgey: A common sight in forests and woods. It flaps its wings at ground level to kick up blinding sand.
On Route 2 I caught a level 3 Pidgey who I nicknamed Ridriguez (no I didn't misspell a name I chose to do that). His starting move is Tackle (rams body into the target).
Scatterbug: When under attack from bird pokemon, it spews a poisonous black powder that causes paralysis on contact.
On Route 2 I caught a level 3 Scatterbug who I nicknamed Akihiko (took it from Persona 3 Portable [PSP game has a PS2 counter part Persona 3 FES]). His starting moves are Tackle and String Shot.At this point I moved on to the Santalune Forest for a short time because repeat pokemon were appearing every battle. I'll come back after a little forest exploring to see if there are any rare pokemon and level up a little. (I made Fennekin level 8 in that grass is how much I ran around).Once in the forest go left a little bit and go up you'll see a trainer walking back and forth most likely, well I avoided him and went up then left again to a little dead end with an item, it's a Potion.
Pansear: Very intelligent, it roasts berries before eating them. It likes to help people.
In Santalune Forest I caught a level 4 Pansear who I nicknamed Yuri (took name from Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts Covenant [PS2 games]). His moves are Scratch, Leer (glare to lower defense), and Play Nice (trick target to lower target's attack).Hope you enjoyed :D There will be a part 2 up at least within a week! :)
