Dual Review - Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic

Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic (KOTOR) is a role playing game played from the third person perspective. It was released by LucasArts back in 2003, with its sequel, The Sith Lords, following in 2005. Both games maintain the same gameplay elements and style, while the sequel brings in addition features, like weapon and armor modification, item creation and breakdown and even chemistry. Another great thing about the sequel is that, although most of the time the story is separated from the first game's ending and events, it occasionally brings in characters from previous game, but not strongly enough to make it a direct sequel.

Although both of the games were published by the same company called LucasArts, KOTOR 1 and KOTOR 2 were developed by different studios. First of the franchise was made by BioWare, previously known only for Neverwinter Nights, BioWare became very famous for developing Mass Effect and Dragon Age. The second game was developed by Obsidian Entertainment, who, which is quite funny, after the release of The Sith Lords, developed the sequel to Neverwinter Nights. In the present time, Obsidian is mainly known for developing Dungeon Siege III and Fallout: New Vegas.
