The lights are on
Well I know I am getting a PS3 slim for Christmas, and I want suggestions. I'm getting Disgaea 3 for sure, and I'm sure to get Ratchet and Clank: Future Tools of Destruction. As a huge fan of Insomniac, I am going with inctinct and renting Resistance: Fall of Man on Gamefly. I only want PS3 exclusives, and I am going to use my Xbox 360 for multi-platform games. I also plan on getting other Ratchet and Clank games and Resistance 2. My sister is likely going to let me borrow LittleBigPlanet, and after that, I am lost for ideas. Any help?
Well, a lot of that would hinge on your tastes, though I suppose I could throw in a few obvious suggestions.
-Metal Gear Solid 4 (obviously obvious to the point of obviousness)
-Killzone 2
-Little Big Planet (Don't borrow this, you want to buy it)
-Uncharted & Uncharted 2
-Katamari Forever (Only buy if you just can't get enough. The series really hasn't gone anywhere since the original.)
-Heavy Rain (Coming February 2010)
-God of War III (Coming March 2010)

-Dragon Age: Origins
-Final Fantasy XIII (Coming March 2010)
DA:O is a must buy if you lack a gaming quality PC. It's not PS3 exclusive, but the Xbox 360 version sucks so bad compared to the PS3 counterpart that you want it on your new console. Trust me. (Of course, PC > both for this particular game.)
I'd also potentially recommend White Knight Chronicles, though I'd say that there's less certainty over that game's quality than HR or GoW3. Again, these are just a few suggestions, but they'd be the start of a nice library. I'd also impress that you shouldn't automatically go Xbox360 for anything multi-platform, as you're going to see games that are unequivocally better on PS3. There are already a few, and one of the biggest upcoming blockbusters, FFXIII, is sure to fall under this category. (I recommended it for that reason.) Make sure you do your homework on multi-platform software before purchasing.
Many games are coming out in 2010 so be sure to check them out. And get Uncharted and Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, MW2, and Batman:AA

and heavenly sword a game that is fun as hell if you like god of war and other action games of similar play styles this is one game to check out and demon souls is a great game very challenging but worth a play through plus the multiplayer is unlike anything ive seen before i also play anything multiplatform on 360 and just play sonys first party titles and my 360 dont have a blue ray player psn also has some very ciil exclusive downloadable games that are worth the money and time! hope this helps a little
Metal Gear Solid 4 and Uncharted 2 are definitely ones to take a look at.
Dang, Kevin came prepared. Well, I honestly can't say much since I am a 360 guy myself, but try MAG if you can as well as Little Big Planet. I planned on buying a PS3 this year because the PS3 has ingenuity, and those two games are sure to have it.
Dont Forget Infamous
Kevin basically said everything I was going to say except Infamous. Also, put preorders down on MAG, ModNation Racers, GoW3, and GT5. Sony's got a long list of exclusive titles either out or coming out, so try to check out as many as possible.
You should get Batman & FFXII for PS3 because of Extras they bring for PS3

MGS 4 is amazing, would have been better if Konami would have made getting to online play easier. And you will want to buy Little Big Planet because if you borrow it, you won't be returning it.

Demon's Souls has not been mentioned. It is a PS3 exclusive and from what I hear... it will be the most challenging, difficult, and rewarding RPG experience you will have... thus far. It's the reason I bought my PS3. I won't open it until Christmas, so I can't tell you for certain, but everything I've read has been praise worthy.
