Robot in the Corner Podcast: Episode 2-18

This week, Dean shares some of the new features in the upcoming SSX, Titus shares some enticing Blu Ray deals, and we discuss the recent rumors about the next generation consoles from Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo. For the Netflix Instant Queue Movie Review, we attempt to discuss the TERRIBLE prequel, Tremors 4: The Legend Begins. robotinthecorner.com

Titus doesn't live a few minutes away anymore, so sometimes it works better for him to "phone it in." This week, his phoned in performance was more entertaining (for us) because he did a video chat, complete with distractions, like him playing Infinity Blade on his iPhone while I was talking.

Show Notes:

What are you expecting from the next Xbox and what would it take for you to purchase it on day one? Let us know in the comments section below and we'll share your answers on the next episode.

This week's Instant Queue movie is Star Trek (2009). What did you think of Tremors 4?

Interested in SSX? This 50 minute video from Giant Bomb goes over most (if not all) of its features. Check it out:

  • What are you expecting from the next Xbox and what would it take for you to purchase it on day one? It would take a quad core (any lower, and it's a no go), 4 GB RAM, 1 GB GPU, the ability to record video/upload to Youtube, and the ability to watch other gamers play their games. Also allow used games to be able to be played, and have more Arcade and Indie game support.
  • For the next Xbox, what it would take for me to buy it is more efficiency. My 360 is my main source of entertainment. I can play games on it, watch Movies, TV, and now YouTube videos. If I could do all of this without any hassle, then I'll definitely get it. Maybe not day on, depends on the price.

I would also like a 6-disc tray. Doesn't it suck when your ready for a night of Skyrim, and you get comfortable with a bowl of chips and a soda, then realize that you have Starfox: Adventures in the tray?!?! Am I right? It would be awesome to just be able to have a varity of games ready to play, without needing to take them out and switching disks.

Also, (I think Microsoft already confirmed this) I would like a different point system.

    Good show, guys!
  • The next xbox will have to be REALLY cheap for me to get it on day one considering it will most likely come out when I'm at college and wont have any money. I would like the ability to watch other people play and for it to have a blueray player but besides that I can't really think of anything. Yeah you all picked a movie I've been meaning to watch again!!! That SSX track they show in the Giant Bomb video near then end that has the cliffs on both sides looks amazing!
  • At this point I'll be the next Xbox on day one if it releases before Sony, I need to stay current with my writing position so that means purchasing hardware that people will be talking about to maintain relevance.  I haven't made the jump to the 360 yet, but doubt I will have funding with PAX East coming up.  Perhaps over the summer I'll hop aboard the 360 wagon, it's a good system but I went with Playstation first to have that built in Bluray player.
