The lights are on

It's time for another edition of dbull's Corner. In this edition, my focus will be here on the community.
To start things off, I would like to give a personal shout out to the following members for all their help in the Anti-Spam/Anti-Adbot thread:
srkelley (you deserve special praise for showing me how to get rid of those more pesky ad threads that cover everything else up up; you're awesome!)
And all the mods that have pointed out threads and users in our mod's only section.
You guys rock, thank you for all of your help with reporting all of those threads and users. You have no idea how much easier it was to delete those threads and report those users with your help. It beats the heck out of browsing through page after page of threads to find them all.
I hope to make the shout out a regular feature in the GI community editions of dbull's Corner. Things that I'll be looking for: examples of members showing newcomers the ropes and pointing them in the right direction, and of course reporting posts and threads that violate forum rules (advertising, trolling, flaming, noob bashing, etc). You can report threads to me (or any of the other mods) by sending a conversation or leaving a comment on one of our profiles.I'm hopeful that this will bring the community closer little by little. Now please note, I'm just one guy so I'm not going to see everything that you all do. Don't get discouraged if I don't notice your good acts right away; keep at it and eventually you'll get your own shout out right here in dbull's Corner!
Now, let's move on to something I've noticed lately that I think could use some work: blog posts. Like many people, I don't like seeing well thought out blog posts getting bumped off of the front blog page for a one sentence blog post that's not really about anything at all. Please be courteous to the other members of the community that put forth some effort into their blog posts, they deserve to be seen and it's not fair when a relatively pointless blog shows up and steals the spotlight from a more deserving post.
