I wouldn't say that games are racist per se, however geared toward a specific demographic. For the GTA:SA game CJ was perfect because that was the story they were telling and it could only be told from his perspective. In upcoming and now produced games or new IP would kill a producer to change from a white male protaganist? I thought it was interesting to say the least in Alpha Protocol that you could tan the hell out of your character and even give him a Arabic-like beard but he could not be anything but white. It was a bit unnerving. Look realistically make your owns don't count, however creating an established IP around a ethnic character can really set precedents for opening the door for more types of characters (female, Asian, Indian, etc.). Game companies need to let go of the demographic and legality issues and honestly embrace that fact that a hero is a hero and a villain is a villain. How much backlash would there have been if Sheva was replaced by Jill and they went on a killing spree in Africa? Activist groups would have had a field day because there is no equal representation. This is a stupid topic to have in this day and age and realistically till we can see each other eye to eye and respect each other it'll continue. As far as everyone's responses on this page I have nothing but respect for you and thank you for showing up especially you Darth Spartan good discussion.

Oh thanks for the suggestion, they do sound good. I just looked at this band because they were opening for Royal Bliss, so thought I would check them out. I think for just starting they aren't too bad, they have a influence of Aerosmith, but I agree it isn't great, they do need some work, but not a bad band either.

Not my cup of tea personally. The music just feels like the tempo should be pushed more and the vocalist doesn't do anything for me.

Might I suggest Street Dogs to you. The lead singer used to be in the Army, was originally with Dropkick Murphy's, quit the band after 9/11 to become a fire fighter, and in 2005 decided to form a new band and go out again. They do a lot of stuff for soldiers. They even have links on their website to organizations to help soldiers.

I met the lead singer when they played here in Lincoln and as soon as he heard I'd been in the military and was medically discharged, he immediately started asking me questions about how I was being cared for and stuff. It was cool to have just met the guy and he remember my name after talking to me for almost 20 minutes. You don't see that much from other bands.

Being a Girl gamer on Halo has it's good points and bad. Most of us stay in party chat or just dont put are mic. in i have like 6 other gamer girls on my friends list so yes we are out there and i hope to find and see more of us out there. Be proud to be a girl gamer and dont let the guys put you down. we are just as good as the guys and it is time to show it. Sorry Guys if i made anyone mad but it is true with some of us

Oh yeah Drizzt is also a favorite one of mine, I like Raistlin more than him but I think it was the whole Dragonlance books that made it better. But Drizzt was a great character also.

Yeah I think if the game is good than I will be happy, I agree with the point of using him to make money off, but if they are using his material and game ideas in a good way, than I find it a great thing. I am a big fan of his music and videos he has done his whole life, he always did great things for entertainment. Moonwalker was a fun game and if you watched "This is it" movie, he was working on some interesting videos to go with his concert, he has always been able to do stuff that broke out of the box and was interesting. You may not like the man MJ was sometimes but he was a music genious. His music videos were always amazing, so if this game is from his ideas than possibly this game could be amazing, and I am excited for it.

Jackson bought up a bunch of rights to Beatles songs to profit from their lives (and for some of them deaths). He was a business man, too. I really don't think he would have a problem with this. Would you like them to stop selling his records, too? His estate can do whatever they want with his image. Wasn't he bankrupt by the time he died? Blanket's therapy isn't going to pay for itself...

This is just about milking his death for all that it's worth. Personally I never liked his music so a game holds no appeal for me at all, but I'm sure a most of his hardcore fans would buy it no matter how bad it is. So Sony will probably make a bunch of money of it.
