***Free Game Drawing - Details Below***
It was January 18th when I posted my very first video review. Since then I have progressively tried to capture, evaluate, and review many of the big name titles for the year for the sole purpose of doing a video like this. It has been a difficult, but rewarding experience, thanks in large part to the continued support of this community. The feedback, both negative and positive, has pushed me forward with this side project and for that, I thank you.I still look back on many of my videos today in utter amazement at the time and commitment I have sunk into these.
That being said there was a lot I wish I had to the time to play, including Black Ops 2, FTL, finishing Guild Wars 2, and even Dragon's Dogma. So if one of your favorites didn't make the list don't be disheartened, tell me about it in the comments and I'd love to check it out!
The community gives a lot, and this blog looks to give back. Simply drop a comment below about anything. Discussing your personal GotY, favorite moment in gaming, or preference of dance move and you will be entered into a drawing. This winner of this drawing will be able to choose any game mentioned in my top 10 on a platform of their choosing. [1] The winner will be announced a week from now on Wednesday, January 30th at 7:30 PM Central Time on this blog.
***Update***

Nice video. This is the first of yours I have seen, I will have to check the other(s).
You really have a knack for this. You have a way with words, and your editing skills capture the essense of these games and match them perfectly to music.
And I'm always glad to see TWD get some more love here on GIO :) Splendid job on this one.
Really good job on the video reviews. TWD was my #2, and XCOM was my GOTY, but good choices regardless.
Nice List. The reviews were spot on.
Great job as always Craig! My personal choice was TWD, but I had to compromise and go with ME3 for the show.
I love seeing these videos and stuff. I always have liked video reviews as you actually get to see the game. As for my GOTY, I would probably have to say Mass Effect 3 as I just got to that one a few weeks ago having played through the other ones for the first time. That is an amazing series. I always enjoy your video reviews and hope you are able to keep doing them for a long time.
Great video review. My GOTY was FarCry3.
Now that I watch this, I just realized how few new games I played this year. Definitely seemed to be a lot of great single-player games that I wan't to play, like X-Com, Far Cry 3, and ACIII, but I spent most of the year catching up on games I missed from the last few years.
Great video, Craig. I'm not just saying that to enter the drawing. Your videos are all fantastic. You deserve a job in the gaming industry.
Amazing work craigaleg! Though I was quite surprised not to find Dishonored in that list, you gave a great summary of all of their best features. Like you, most of my first half of 2013 will no doubt be dedicated to finishing even more 2012 games. I just got some money in my PSN wallet, and after hearing your thoughts, I am going to have to check out Journey sometime. I hope a gaming company takes considerable looks at your video editing chops. They deserve a guy like you.
Most of my year was spent on whittling down the back log. Which actually just added to the back log. The only major 2012 releases that I played this year were Mass Effect 3 and Black Ops 2. Between those two Mass Effect easily wins. But my game of the year would have to be Double Dragon Neon. Honestly it isn't an jaw dropping, write all your friends and neighbors type of game, but it is the first co-op experience that me and my 5 year old have been able to play and truly enjoy together. Sure his ability to jump over a gap seriously hinders our progress, but laughs hysterical every time they say "butt pirate". Good times. Great video, looking forward to more of them in the future.
Great Video man- You earned a new sub for that!
My top ten looked pretty similar, except I would have replaced Syndicate (screw Australia's censorship laws), XCOM, Far Cry 3 and Assassins Creed 3 with Borderlands 2, Dishonored, Halo 4 and Fez... Simply cause I didn't get around to playing those others- like you, too busy dealing with my backlog (also Journey, which I couldn't play due to lack of PS3). Which now also includes 3 MMO's (Guild wars 2, SW:TOR and Eve online). Haha I'm screwed...
Do a Top Ten upcoming games of 2013 video?
I enjoyed this video quite a lot actually. Some interesting picks. Some games that didn't make your list but made mine: Borderlands 2, Dishonored, and Need For Speed Most Wanted.
i subed to your youtube channel by the way. keep up the good work.
The top two games were very different. Walking Dead: Great story, bad gameplay. Far Cry 3: Great gameplay, bad story.
I had The Walking Dead as my GOTY until I played XCOM it game was too much fun for me not have as my number 1 even though The walking dead ripped my heart out a few times. Zero's Escape: Virtue's Last Reward came in third.
Keep up the good work!
