This isn't exactly in many people's minds, but, with my stamina for Halo running low, I think that this is a good a time as ever to analyze some of the games that are going to come out soon. And what I mean is that, when you tell a non gamer that you're playing online video games, you probably say that you're playing games like Halo, and this is a search, at least for me, to see what franchise could possibly get to that level of popularity. This is just my opinion, so please don't take this for a fact. Enjoy!

(Battlefield 4)

With the preorders for BF4 being better than COD: Ghosts, it seems that Battlefield will do better than COD this year. But will it be more memorable than Halo to the general media? I don't think so. While I know that this game will be great, and gamers will definitely know about it, I don't think that all that many people outside of gaming will know about it and have a clue about what you say about it, other than the fact that you shoot people. And, while that in and of itself seems a crime, I really don't think that Battlefield is ready yet to take over the thrown that Halo is sitting on, much to many of my friends' now battered egos.

(Call Of Duty: Ghosts)

The best selling franchise and best selling thing since the car was invented, this series will definitely have sales on it's side. But will it have general non gamer popularity? To an extent, yes, but not enough to push it past Halo, more because COD comes out every year, and even non gamers know that they do the same thing, while Halo really does different things with each new release, even if it isn't received all that well(Halo 3:ODST). Halo will still be the game to mention for pop culture over COD, even after the highly anticipated COD: Ghosts.

The new shooter from Respawn Entertainment, which is being made by a big chunk of the guys who used to work at IF before all the problems with Activision. And while it might gain more popularity with Xbox One buyers, it won't come close to Halo with the general populace. I want to say that I'm lying, and I really do, because I can't wait to get my hands on TItanfall, but it honestly won't be mentioned by people who play online games to people who don't play games, unless the gamer is explaining it to the non gamer. Maybe if this becomes a series and really picks up steam, but not anytime soon.

(Tom Clancy's The Division)

I can't wait to play this game, and I know that I'm not the only one. But could it actually beat out Halo by the populace? That question isn't as easily answered for this game as others, more due to the fact that Tom Clancy's name is on it, and his name is easy to recognize in pop culture, so it could possibly happen, though not easily. This game would have a lot of work ahead of it if it wanted to beat Halo out with the pop culture, but it could do it due to the quality that Tom Clancy makes his books, movies, and games, which I'm a fan of all three. If any game out of the competitive ones I've named can do it, it's going to be The Division.

This last one doesn't even fit in this category, but I do think that it's worth a good mention, so please bear with me.

(Watch Dogs)

This game doesn't seem to have a PvP area or a gamemode OR is made specifically for competitive multiplayer, but it could take over Halo as a game to be recognized by the general non gaming community, more because if how interesting it is, and how different it is, which was something that Halo was back when it first came out. And it has hype gallor surrounding it, with almost every one of my friends saying that it will be game of the year(Even though they haven't played The Last Of Us OR Bioshock Infinite, but they still could be right), and that alone says that this game could, most easily of all, take Halo's throne, but even then it's a stretch.

I hope that you've enjoyed my blog about who will dethrone Halo. Tell me in the comments below which game coming out soon you think will dethrone halo, which game you're really looking forward to, or just that no game will dethrone Halo. Thanks for reading. Have a great day!
