The lights are on

My top 5 cintematic gaming scenes.

Hey guy's this is my first blog so don't hate me if it's not very good. Here's my favorite cintematic scenes from the best games I played that do have a memerable scene, remember, it's not always about playing the game, but following the story that is told in he game.

6. Gears of War 2, the long lost wife. This scene got about this close - - from making me cry, Dom's only reason in the war is to find his wife and he has to see her tortured and lifeless, but still alive. The crushing blow is when he actualy has to kill her himself, the only reason I didn't put this cutscene higher up is because I like happy endings not this heatbreaker.

5. Halo Wars, spartans rock. This is the scene were the spartans slaughter the elites. Talk about freakin sweetness in battle. Every cutscene in Halo Wars is top notch and beatiful but this is pure action gold and lets you see a spartan squad in action.

4. Modern Warfare, shock and awe. After playing as a character, in a way you feel like you are the character. You see from his point of view, you control him, you are him. You had just gotten away in your chopper after a daring helicopter rescue and then you get blown up, now what kind of (insert strong language here) is that? But it was one of the most cintematic experiances I have ever had and I'm glad Infintry Ward put this scene in to help you realize the sacrifice that soldiers have to give to protect our country. There realy are no cutscenes in Modern Warfare but I had to count this as one.

3. Assassins creed, all assassination death scenes. It realy makes you think about if you are doing right or wrong when you kill someone but the first assassinations realy nag at your mind and the character when they say they they were helping the people for reals.

According to a certain person's comment that brought a certain scene to my mind, here's number 2. Halo 3, legendary ending. After about 1000 playthroughs on this game I played it yet the more. I finished the campaign on hard and for some reason never completed it on legendary. My Xbox 360 was jacking up my games and making circle scratches on them so I decided to buy the new MW2 edition (MW2 was the one it scratched) (insert another cuss word) so I got a new hardrive and then I played halo yet the more. Finaly me and my awsome dad had beat the campaign on legendary and that was when I saw besides the regular ending a new ending that drove me absolutly crazy. As you drift through space unconcious you come upon a mysterious planet and then it ends. Talk about a cliffhanger man I thought about that video and speculated for a long time but curse the devil I forgot to save the movie so now I'll never be able to watch it again.

1. Modern Warfare 2, end game. Talk about one of the best scenes in gaming history! Who was the genious that thought of putting a throwing knife in an eyeball? This game was also one the number one game that made me wander when the next game in the series was coming. The best scene ever made.

Comments
  • That was a good list. My top five come from Modern Warfare 2.

  • I'm sorry, that was hard to follow due to the numbering. Would you please explain why you did that or revise it?

Now onto the content. I agree with you that stories are awesome (AMC: Story Matters), good picks.

  • yea i dont know who taught you to count... but thats not how you do it.

  • Good list. My number one is the MW1 nuke scene. That was freaking awesome. My other ones would be from Medal Gear Solid 4 especially the end. That was pretty sad to.

  • Stephen Davis's comment made

    me laugh

  • halo wars FTW

  • BTW learn to count.

  • Sorry about the numbering system. My bad. Is this better?

  • Oh and like I said this is my first blog so leave me room for mistakes.

  • I'm surprised you didn't mention the airport scene in this list, but it is your list with your opinions.

And also, your numbering is a little....off.

  • Great blog... I agree completely. And a little constructive criticism, pictures are your friend:)

  • wow. you'd think he misnumbered just to irritate you guys. he probably used the ordered list option in advanced editor. a.e. is messed up that way.

anyway, boo, decent list. not sure i agree with mw1 or 2, as i thought mw1 was predictable and mw2 worse as it used alot of the same scenarios.

still, they and the others are definitely cinematic in their design. looking forward to more blogs, boo.

  • Good list. My favorite is the end cinematic of Infamous.

  • Bayonetta has some pretty good ciminatic sceens. I like the list they all are pretty good cinematics

  • I have to agree with your number 1, the end of MW2 was so good, I had to go back on all the difficulties just for the satisfaction of destroying him one more time.

Not sure about the AC cutscenes, though, they were a little dull. What about the very end of Halo 3? Uncharted 2 was outstanding (the whole game had spectacular cutscenes throughout) and when LionHeart gets his in Brutal Legend was worth putting up with the rest of that game...

    Good list, Boo!

  • GOW FTW!

  • i agree mw 2 endgame was marvolous! a knife in sheperds after all the guns we had to play with! LOVE IT!!

  • It would have been better if you included the cutscenes from youtube

  • I have to agree with Assassin's Creed. Great story, although a tad repetitive when it came to actual gameplay.

But as for all of the others, I usually find shooters to be a tad predictable, with the story usually tacked onto the gameplay.

Regardless of what I think though, it's YOUR top 5 cinematic gaming scenes, not everyone's.

    Great first blog!

  • i disagree with every single one of those... you apparently haven't played either uncharted or any Non-Mainstream titles for that matter.
