How to Deal With a Call of Duty/Battlefield Fan

Alright.... The whole Battlefield vs. Call of Duty thing is honestly one of the most annoying things to plague the internet. Every time I hear somebody try to argue for one side or the other I want to throw my laptop across the room. The discussion is completely pointless. Just to make sure everyone realizes exactly how pointless it is, I even mocked up a complex flow chart to demonstrate the differences between Battlefield and Call of Duty.

Just the Facts:

  • While fighting those idiots who play the other game is super important to you, it sounds like a power sander made of fingernails grinding down a chalkboard to everyone else. Please stop.
  • Arguing on the internet is like trying to wrap a rabid squirrel in gold foil. It doesn’t work and inevitably ends with squirrel bites everywhere.
  • You all are debating which military shooter sequel is more creative. Gaming is filled with more military shooters than hipsters at a skinny jeans convention.
  • If you like military shooters, then buy both games. Arbitrarily choosing to hate one game in a genre is a disservice only to you. Why miss out on experiencing both?
  • Seriously, I can’t emphasize enough just how much nobody else cares.

But I Like Arguing About Pointless Sh*t!

  • You angry fanboys need to find something better to do with your time. Puberty, for one thing. Either that or finishing middle school.
  • If you are above the age of 14 and actually care about the CoD-BF debate, shame on you. Go find something better, like a job.
  • You don’t owe your loyalty to some massive corporation that pumps out shooter sequels. This whole rivalry is stirred up by Activision and DICE so you’ll be more likely to buy their product and not their rival’s.

But... Call of Duty/Battlefield is so much better! And they started it!

  • Too bad. Now go to your room.
