In 2011, I completed 70 games. The blog I wrote listed 69 games, but I managed to finish L.A. Noire on December 31 with just two hours left before ringing in the New Year.In 2012, my total is far lower than I expected it to be. I’m probably missing a few games, but I believe I finished 48 games last year. The birth of my first child obviously led to me having far less time to game. I also feel that 2012 didn’t have as many “must-play” titles that kept me up late into the night. There’s another factor at play here, too. Many of the games I play on iOS don’t have a defined conclusion. The same could be said of sports games like MLB 12: The Show, but winning the World Series or being awarded the American League MVP in Road to the Show are conclusions of sorts. Should games I obsessed over like Temple Run and Madcoaster be added to my list? I don’t think so, but they are definitely worth mentioning given how much of my time they consumed. The game I spent the most time with was Dragon’s Dogma. I played through it with a friend over the course of three months, and nearly completed a second playthrough by myself. That playthrough was completed on January 13, 2013.I got a huge kick out of seeing all of the games you completed in 2011, and once again extend an invitation to all of you to jot down the games you finished in 2012 in the comments section below. My List of Completed Games in 2012:Ace Combat: Assault HorizonAlan Wake’s American NightmareThe Amazing Spider-ManAngry Birds Star WarsAssassin’s Creed IIIBattleshipBorderlands 2Call of Duty: Black Ops IIDarksiders IIDishonoredDisney UniverseDragon’s Dogma (almost two complete playthroughs)The Elder Scrolls V: DragonbornFable: The JourneyFamily Guy: Back to the MultiverseFar Cry 3FezGhost Recon: Future SoldierHalo 4I am AliveHell Yeah!JourneyJurassic ParkKinect Star WarsLego Batman 2Lego Lord of the RingsLittle InfernoLollipop ChainsawLord of the Rings: War in the NorthMajor League Baseball 2K12Mass Effect 3Max Payne 3MLB 12: The ShowNew Super Mario Bros. Not very many smash hits, but didn't New Super Mario Bros U come out? How could you have missed a fairly short game like that?
I've been trying to save money by only buying used older games. I played more games in 2012 than previous years, but none of them were current gen. I beat 35 games in 2012, and many of the games I chose to play were influenced by recent episodes of replay, so thanks to gameinformer for helping me develope my love and knowledge of new and old games.
Snes: Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Mario World
Playstation: Crash Bandicoot 3, Medal of Honor 2, Syphon Filter, Tomb Raider 3, Tomb Raider The Last Revelation, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, Twisted Metal
Playstation 2: Beyond Good and Evil, Fatal Frame, Fatal Frame 2, Final Fantasy X-2, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, Killzone, Max Payne, Max Payne 2, Okami, Ratchet and Clank Going Commando, Ratchet and Clank Up Your Arsenal, Ratchet Deadlocked, Red Faction, Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, Sly 3
PSP: Ratchet and Clank Size Matters
Xbox: Halo, Halo 2, Splinter Cell, Star Wars Battlefront 2
PC: Age of Mythology, Farcry, F.E.A.R. 2
iOS: 10000000, Run Roo Run
Shoot, that's a lot of games. I really didn't buy much this year myself. I'm almost ashamed at my small little line-up:
Assassin's Creed III
FF 13-2
Kid Icarus Uprising
Jak and Daxter: HD Collection
The Amazing Spider-man
Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Xenoblade Chronicles (most of it)
Mario Party 9
Also old stuff:
Ezio trilogy (Assassin's Creed)
Infamous 2
Uncharted 3
Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection
Professor Layton and the Last Spectre
Didn't keep track. It wouldn't be an impressive list anyway. Been too busy too get a whole lot of gaming in.
Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, 3, and Peace Walker, Dark Souls, The Walking Dead, Bully: Scholarship Edition, Assassin's Creed 2, Battlefield: Bad Company, Skyrim, Beyond Good and Evil, Saints Row 1 and 2, Halo: Combat Evolved, skate., Batman: Arkham Asylum, Frog Fractions (GOTY), and Dead Island all for the first time. I also 100-percented Deadly Premonition after nearly 3 years and 4 playthroughs if that counts.
On top of those, I'm still working through new releases like Hitman Absolution and Resident Evil 6 at the same time that I'm playing Dead Rising, Bioshock 2, Mass Effect, Blacksite: Area 51, and Dark Sector. Overall, pretty great year for gaming.
You should do this for a living or something.
Here are my games I beat in 2012 in order of their release:

Trials Evolution (Played a lot, but couldn't beat the last insane levels)
Walking Dead
Ghost Recon Future Soldier
Lego Batman 2

Darksiders II
Sleeping Dogs
Transformers: FoC
Guild Wars 2 (Got to the level cap, can't really beat MMOs)
FTL
Torchlight 2
DIshonored
XCOM
Hotline Miami
Assassins' Creed III
NFS Most Wanted
Black Ops 2
Far Cry 3
Hmm wow, didn't realize I beat that many games, and most are of good quality. Can't say the same to your list Reiner, but your job is to play a bunch of games, good or bad.
