The lights are on
Fanboys (and girls) are a special breed in the gaming world. With their zealous enthusiasm they single-handedly have the ability to make or break games, breathe life back into flailing franchises and (if they use their powers for evil) start flame wars across the Internet. Their undying devotion for a developer, game or character has spawned web-rings, epic works of art and the desire to participate in the ultimate fan tribute – cosplay. This weekly blog highlights some of the best cosplay found around the net. These fans put their blood, sweat and tears into their work, and it shows.
Talk about some impressive armor. Check out Orochi X's take on Siegfried of SC IV fame.
Who: The CharacterSiegfried Schtauffen from the game Soul Calibur IVWhy: The DecisionI’m a gamer and Soul Calibur series is one of my favorites so far. I choose Siegfried because first time I saw him, I was so attracted with his icy armor, I never saw any design like it before and I found it interesting and unique. What: The ProcessMe and my big brother took 3 months to make it done. We used mainly liquid plastic and fiber glass for the icy part, it was very stressful because it was the first time we used that kind of material and we almost gave up making it. But in last minutes we decided to keep going and yeah I’m glad that finally we’ve made it, though it’s not perfect but I’m proud of our works. The final cost is around USD100. Where and When: The DebutI debuted my costume at Comic Fiesta 2008, MalaysiaI did the photoshoot at Millenia Walk, Singapore. A Malaysian photographer named Thomas Kuan aka Hexlord took the shoot I choose the location after a discussion with the photographer, I saw his portfolio and I found this location quite match for my costume. So I asked him to shoot me there.Links: The CosplayerIf you want to see more, equally impressive costumes, check out his cosplay team's website here.

Sigfried has always been my Favorite SoulCalibur character...besides Nightmare, that is :P
Well, he's not going to win any masculinity contests, :) Seriously though, that icy part is pretty impressive. It looks pretty fragile.
.... DANG~! How long did it take you to create that impressive piece of art!?! Very nicely done. Kudos to you!
it looks like it took a while to make.
in the last few pictures he looks like a action figure.
neat and for 100 buck too thats awesome, would also make an awesome holloween costume
Thats awsome looking. I am thinking I might get into these cosplay things lol. Not that there is anywhere exciting to show off in Utah
dudes got the right costume, very believable, but the guy himself is wrong, sieg is more american looking that anything. still, thats a pretty accurate suit.
Cosplay is weird. But i can't argue with a 6 foot tall knuckle-armored Tifa at the comic store. I can quietly ask her her #, very quietly. So quiet that she doesn't hear me and i just continue to stare until she uncomfortably walks away..............oh.. oh. what? oh yeah cosplay is awesome
Yo I found some awesome Rosalina cosplay ride hur!

There's also some Midna and others too, but this chick is TALENTED!
Haha. Bouldergeist, I contacted her a few weeks back to get some images per request. So she should be up soon!
Not sure if you've ever been to Video Games Live Meagan, but for one of the encores, they did One Winged Angel, and during the song, the screen behind them was entirely dedicated to various FF 7 cosplayers. I found it to be pretty cool. Here's a video link for ya:
