Anthony Burch of Gearbox, lead writer of Borderlands 2, joins the podcast this week. We also talk NHL 13, Mark of the Ninja, Double Dragon Neon, and Joe Danger 2.

Burch, who first earned Internet fame writing for Destructoid and the hilarious "Hey Ash Whatcha Playin?" web series, is now the lead writer for Gearbox's highly anticipated Borderlands 2. Host Matt Helgeson and our Borderlands 2 cover story writer Jeff Marchiafava interview Burch about his career, approach to writing, hopes for Borderlands 2, and future DLC. In the second segment, Matt Bertz and the newest member of GI's Jock Squad, Kim Wallace, check in to talk about NHL 13. The latest in EA's long-running series is polarizing, impressing and frustrating our resident puckheads in equal measure. Finally, Bryan Vore, Matt Miller, and Ben Reeves chat with Matt (who threatens to strangle Ben later) about Mark of the Ninja, Double Dragon Neon, and Joe Danger 2: The Movie.

There's one thing that really bothers me about Borderlands 2. Gamestop always gets some special DLC that's exclusive to their customers. Normally I don't particularly mind, but now they're getting a full character that costs $10 to everybody else. That's downright despicable.

The biggest one is almost definitely a scag based off its legs! Let me know what else you guys think! I'm so pumped! No real big spoilers, the scag was hinted at in a trailer. Most beasts we've already seen in either screenshots or trailers.

Great podcast but Playstation Plus "might" be worth your while? It's been amazing for at least a year and a half now. I don't buy games on XBLA anymore because of PSPlus. And I see no reason to ever buy another TellTale or Double Fine game because I've just gotten used to them being free right away or in a couple weeks on Playstation. And I'm enjoying Jet Set Radio which I'm disappointed you didn't talk about because I heavily disagree with Matt's review about it not holding up.

Great hearing the lead writer of Borderlands 2, that's what I am aspiring to be (not for Gearbox, but just writing for games in general).

Also, lol at the awkward switch between talking about his youtube videos and then Matt asking him about the game XD.

Wow, my head exploded upon hearing that the Hey Ash writer is the BL2 writer. Also, I LOVED the dialogue for the Mechromancer.
