Special Edition Podcast: Supreme Court Decision

by Matt Helgeson on Jun 30, 2011 at 02:00 PM

In one of the most important legal decisions in the history of video games, the Supreme Court struck down a California law aimed at regulating the sale and distribution of violent and adult-oriented video games. This case had broad ranging implications for the industry, and many are now breathing a sigh of relief. In this special edition podcast, host Matt Helgeson is joined by Matt Miller to discuss the history and resolution of the case. In the second segment, they are joined by Rich Taylor, senior vice president of communications of the Entertainment Software Association, which led the legal battle against the bill. He speaks to the dramatic courtroom scenes and behind the scenes wrangling that led the ESA to victory over the State of California.
