The lights are on
We're giving the regular Game Informer Show a rest this week in favor of a special edition podcast for our current cover story, Crystal Dynamic's bold reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise. There's been a flurry of interest in this story from the Tomb Raider community, so we thought we'd give our readers a chance to ask the people working on the game questions about the game. Crystal Dynamics' global brand manager Karl Stewart and Tomb Raider franchise director Tim Longo were nice enough to call in to the GI Show, and give some intriguing answers to reader questions (posed by our cover story author Meagan Marie and GI editor Matt Miller). Did your question get asked? You'll have to listen to find out. Either way, this is mandatory for Tomb Raider fans.
Note: The opening and closing music to the podcast is a sneak peak at a track from the game itself.

Awesome. Ever since reading the cover story last week, I have been unusually excited about this game. I've been a big fan of CD's treatment of the franchise, but as much as I enjoyed those first three games, if this reboot turns out to be half as good as it sounds, it will easily eclipse everything that has come before. Looking forward to it, Crystal Dynamics!
Amazing! Thank you everyone!
Thanks Meagan! :)
I can't wait for the trailer. Especially if there's a cool launch one like Underworld's.
I actually like that they haven't given away too much, and I hope they don't. With Underworld when you see all the different screenshots and info, leading up to the release, I basically got the story line. This time they should give just enough info so we know where it's going without giving away too much.
^^ I agree with Dark Experience. I was hoping for a dramatic swimming. Like if they're trying to make it as if 'what would we do?' explain why Lara goes swimming with knee high boots then! But please let her be able to swim. :)
I think this game will be an awesome reboot, it seems Crystal Dynamic is dead serious about making this game better than the previous ones.
Plus, I think playing as a younger Laura, and twisting it into a survival game as well, will do this game justice.
I hope they come out with a Tomb Raider sound track. I would totally play that music on Halloween, man!
I so excited about this game cnt wait for it, huge fan My must have over all games :)
I knew they were saving the best question for last. While I've been eager to move back to Hollywood, CA, I might just have to move to the Bay Area so I can work as a tester on this game. I really do miss working ridiculously long hours as a tester during crunch time, though I'm not sure why.
That music sounds freakin' awesome. A little bit Marilyn Manson, a little bit Inception (it did kind of sound like that vibe), very, very dark and intense. You can consider me sold on the soundtrack if nothing else :)
Can't wait for the game!
