The lights are on
Game Informer editors Tim Turi and Bryan Vore got to see Insomniac's epic shooter Resistance 3 in action, and now they are here to answer all your reader questions about the game.
Email the author Matt Helgeson, or follow on Twitter, and Game Informer.
Thanks for answering my question. :)
I just got Resistance 1 & 2 because I was so interested in Resistance 3 from Game Informer's cover story. I will be getting Resistance 3 and hope to enjoy the first two. And that was a solid show.
I was featured on this! SO FREAKING HAPPY!!!
wow, i really didnt think you'd answer my question after there had already been a couple discussions on co-op
The pic for this post looks like a young Bill Murray.
Well that was disappointing :\
None of my questions were answered.
90% of the questions were already answered too -_-
Thanks for the shout out :p. Im quite disappointed that 8 player co-op is being tossed because me and many people like me got the most enjoyment from R2 in that. Oh well, hopefully the focus on single player will make it extraordinary.
YAY. got my question answered and its on my birthday. coop was cool but if theyre gonna focus that xtra effort on single and multiplayer thats fine. and nice job with the podcast guys
thanks for answering my question! and yeah i meant to type Resistance 2...my bad. I'm still interested in seeing what they do with Capelli though. But i just cant grasp the fact that Insomniac is done with Hale. There has to something more to it.
most of the questions could have been avoided if ppl would have actually read the article before posting questions (weapon wheel, campaign co-op, etc) but i understand that alot of other info prob couldnt be answered cuz you didnt know or they wont let you...
I'm sorry guys but you dropped the ball on some of the resistance universe trivia. I'm a hardcore fan of the franchise, I have read the book(next book is being published next October by the same author) and the comics, along with all the viral sites.
First; The cloven are Malikov's first trial of protecting against the chimeran virus. Since spire attacks were rampant Malikov created a vaccine which was seen to have good short term results, it was given to every Russian soldier, and in the long term it changed them into part human part chimera. They all took off in one night from Russia. The leader of the cloven tried to kill Malikov before he left but he obviously failed. Cloven are one or two extremes. the Sentinel's are the other.
Second; the name of the co-op character is John Harper and is a friend of Capelli's from Oklahoma.
Third; This isn't specifically targeted at you guys but for all the other fans out there, Hale is dead, the dev. team confirmed it on The Full Moon Show, The story dev. Jan Paquette said he is dead, Capelli is dealing with Hales death in the game, thats that. His memory lives on in the game and he won't be forgotten but he's gone.
Fourth; Project Abraham is a viral site which indicates the experiments that went on to create a serum batch to fight the chimeran virus once infected which also brings me to my next point, The serum was designed to take the chimeran virus once it infects a person, it doesn't infect them(as long as they aren't immunocompromised like Shepard).
Fifth; The whole pychic abilities were only given to Hale because of his link to Shepard because in there serum batch, Pure Chimeran DNA was laced into it.
Sixth; This one is one of your worst mistakes guys. The was no wormhole opened in New York, there is no wormhole indicated at all. The only thing close to a wormhole is a rift opening up in hawii indicated in Co-Op intel from R2.What you are referring to is when we see a big black meteor/Planet with other small planets behind it over Chicxulub Crater in mexico.
Seventh; Just to say that the universe has plenty of stuff to explore, and there is plenty more to come. If you go to the resistance wiki or to the resistance forum they will hook you up to the viral sites. And i feel that even at this point it has been explored plenty. It would probably take you about a week straight in order to catch up outside of the games and the comics and the book.
Eighth; To be a little more precise Resistance 3 will be out Autumn of 2011.
Ninth; Pure chimera don't exist on Earth except for some remains in containment at the station genesis in Bryce Canyon. The big chimera are still made from multiple bodies. Think of it this way, with 6.5 billion people on earth and 90% are chimera, of course you could facilitate should monstrous chimera.
Tenth; In relation to the whole trilogy thing the answer is just plain out no, there will be more direct sequels after this as said by Jon Paquette. He also confirmed side stories meaning we could see a campaign with Grayson in Russia soon after Resistance 3.
Eleventh; While i liked that you guys knew some trivia that some others wouldn't you should really look further into the universe because if you do, it will envelop you(in a good way XD).
Sorry for the super long post but thats stuff i needed to say. Next time something like this is done call me XD LOL
Still, props for doing it in the first place.
Heres the Resistance Forum; beta-forums.myresistance.net/resistance/
Now enjoy.
They never answered weather or not there will be local multiplayer!!!
Hurry up with the Game already!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lets get weird.
Thanks for answering my question! SO AWESOME!!!
Crap I need to play both 1 and 2, because all of these partial spoilers mean nothing to me.
Sounds promising. I have wanted to play the Resistance series since it was released but was unable to afford it. Now that 1 & 2 are cheap I look forward to getting into the story the Resistance universe has to offer & picking up 3 as well in a yr or 2 after a price drop. This has got me pretty interested, thanks.
Well after the review, I feel I'm not missing much from the Resistance franchise.
