The lights are on
If you've been around the site at all this month, you've almost certainly caught some of our month-long coverage of Activision's newly-announced Transformers: War For Cybertron (and if you haven't, you can visit our hub page now and catch up). We've reached the end of our month of exclusive first looks at the game, and we're celebrating with this special edition podcast. Resident Game Informer Transformers nerds Andrew Reiner and Matt Miller join Philip Kollar and Dan Ryckert, who went to see the game last month. The group discusses what would make for a perfect Transformers game, what we've seen of War For Cybertron so far, and a few of the elements -- like co-op and competitive online multiplayer -- that have yet to be fully revealed. Our last podcast of the year also includes a full music track from War For Cybertron.

My Journey to Cybertron begins, will I be part of the Cybertronian wars and battle along side Kup and RC? Maybe Rodimus Prime and Ultra Magnus.
What about Judd Nelson and Leonard Nimoy? Will they be doing voice overs as well, I know they were only involve for the original movie, and will there be any Unicron? I know he was also destroyed, but someone could rebuild him I'm sure
Isn't G1 everything Transformers from 1984 to 1987 (or whenever Transformers ended), that would include toys, cartoons and comics.
...who are they to re-interpret what Hasbro meant by canon? If Hasbro didn't clarify one way or the other, we should accept it for what canon means and not say it's more towards this or that or they meant to say this--they do not know, which they emphasis in their explanation.
Things that stood out for me:
*It's nice to know the game is a 3rd person shooter.
*Gameplay is like Gears of War--have to check that out.
*Transform at anytime.
*No cover--cover can be destroyed.
*Snipping is possible.
*Boss fight, and bosses are huge.
*Omega Supreme is going to be the end boss of the Autobot Campaign.
*Environment isn’t static--background is animate.
*Cameo apperence are highly possible.
*Story missions and Co-op are confirmed--a team of at least three is confirmed.
*Multiplayer and Single player modes.
*Three vehicle classes: Tanks, Jets and another unmentioned class.
*All characters have two different time-based skills (e.g. Shield, invisibility, teleport, etc.).
*The game is nowhere near complete!
*Developers of the games are fans of the original series.
*Storyline is one story broken into two parts, Decepticon Campaign (first half) and the Autobot Campaign. It is an origin story.
*Second level is set to explain Starscream and Megatron's relationship.
*Many of the G1 actors are coming back to reprise their originals roles. Announcement will be made at a later date in 2010; however, Peter Cullen is confirmed as Optimus Prime.
*Hasbro has said this game is canon.

We were doing a month of coverage on the game, which means we're going to be extensive in revealing the game and new info on it. If you're not interested in it, there are plenty of other articles on plenty of other games on the site. The only waste of time and space is commenting on something you're not interested in.
Just FYI GI,Cybertron is alive,it's Primus,the Transformers creator and god.
The track from the game that you guys used was amazing and the fact that the original G1 VAs are gonna return is just amazing as well.
Hey isnt megatron a tank and a jet or helicopter from different versions of the show and comics also will the falle be in this game because he was in the comic books.
Primus was a Quintesson, so in some ways, Quintessons birthed the Transformers

@Korey Eiche: ehm Primus isn't a quintesson... He's a god who got imprisoned in a metal asteroid. and then reformed that asteroid into Cybertron.
Besides that, the quintessons were the original transformer creators in the cartoon and Primus was their creator in the comic, which has now been taken as the official origin.
