The Game Informer Show Episode 10

In our tenth episode, the GI crew looks back a couple of significant dates in video game history. First off, Andy Reiner, Tim Turi, Matt Helgeson, and Matt Kato discuss the 15th anniversary of the release of the original Sony PlayStation and ponder its lasting influence on the world of gaming. Next up is a look at the first four years of the Xbox 360, as Matt Helgeson, Nick Ahrens, Jeff Cork, and Andy Reiner ponder the massive changes this console has gone through in such a short time. Finally, in a SPOILER FILLED third segment, Matt Miller, Joe Juba, and Jeff Cork debate the mysteries surrounding the plot of Assassin's Creed II...believe us, there's a lot here to discuss. This episode features music by the Budos Band, courtesy of Daptone Records.

  • this is my first first ever!

  • I don't remember the first interaction with dual analog sticks, but I vividly remember getting the vibration dual shock and playing MGS for the first time. It blew my mind during the sniping portion at the beginning and feeling Snake's heartbeat.

  • Loved the podcast guys! Can't wait for AC: III and hope that the 360 is around for another 5 years to see it. Are we going to have to take another break from the show come X-Masd? I think that shall be a very sad week for me... =(

  • Whoo! The original Crash and Spyro trilogies are the best games ever! I wish they had carried over all this time... At least we have all of Naughty Dog and Insomniac's other great games. I might even say those two developers are more important to the Playstation's legacy then any one game series.

  • To whoever that was who thought that it might be a third person recording Adam and Eve in The Truth(sorry, I forgot who it was): I think it was supposed to be one of Subject 16's memories from the Animus, I think he mentioned something about that in the beginning of the game.

  • nice job guys

  • @SammyB

    That's what she said...

    Really great podcast guys

  • That was great.  I was just growing up in the days of N64 and PSOne, so it's really interesting to hear about how that era in games shaped what's happening now.

Also, not having played Assassin's Creed II, I can fully resolve you of any spoilage.  That discussion was so incomprehensible to me as someone that knows nothing about the plot that nothing's been ruined.  Although, I am more excited to play it now.

  • Great podcast guys, but I thought I'd comment and tell you that the link to the mp3 file is broken.

  • I appreciate anyone who can sit there and talk about the perks of all the different systems and avoids becoming inconsolable fan boys.

  • 12 years!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice!Glad that lawsuit happened. Knights was the game that got me into 3D gaming! I'm happy and content with the graphics too, I give the 360 3 more years. Ahahhaa face plates! I'd rather do my own custom plate.

hey guys sorry i screwed up, that mp3 link is fixed now!

  • Sony FTW.

  • @Matthew LeTourneux

STILL the best use of the dual shock controller, EVER...

  • SPOILERS

On the discussion about AC2, I think the Renaissance is important because Ezio was alive during that time, and he was the prophet, which enabled him to open the vault and speak to what appears to me the hologram of the goddess. I like your idea that AC3 will follow multiple assassins. That would be cool.

  • this is my first time listening to the gameinformer show. I think it was way too long.

  • Maybe the third assassin's creed will star an explorer? Someone who has the means to travel between these long distances

  • happy aniversary Playstation

  • Good show!

  • I'm slowly but surely catching up!
