Ubisoft Making New For Honor Announcements At E3

by Imran Khan on May 04, 2018 at 06:39 PM

During a livestream today, the For Honor team talked about their roadmap for the game in the coming months.

In addition to the new maps and new heroes that the team is planning, the developers also talked about big additions to the games that were too big to be unveiled there. They were so large that the team is going to unveil them at E3 next month and clarified it is not just new heroes that will be shown off at the show.

It is important to note this was mentioned in the context of getting the technology platform for For Honor working well enough that new additions can be done efficiently with the base game, so it is unlikely that they mean a sequel, though it does not necessarily rule one out.

Ubisoft's E3 press conference is scheduled for Monday, June 11 at 1:00 PM. PT / 4:00 PM ET. For Honor has a free weekend going from now until May 6 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Our Take
Considering the way Ubisoft wants to maintain games as a service these days, a sequel this quick wouldn't make sense. It does sound like they have a major expansion waiting in the wings. My initial jokey thought was maybe a battle royale mode, but I think I would actually be down with that.
