Rainbow Six Siege’s Community Grows To Over 30 Million

by Ben Reeves on Apr 12, 2018 at 11:56 AM

On March 6, Ubisoft releaed Operation Chimera, a free, cooperative event event for Rainbow Six Siege that included two new operators and a host of cosmetic unlockables. The event helped push the game to new heights in popularity.

Rainbow Six Siege has now surpassed 30 million registered players, which is up from 27 Million last month. Ubisoft also recently hosted the 2018 Six Invitational tournament, which saw a record number of peak concurrent viewers at 321,000, and a total of more than 6.2 million hours watched across all channels.

"On behalf of the entire team, we wanted to thank every member of our diverse, global community for their support of our game," said Rainbow Six Siege brand director Alexandre Remy. "Our players are the most valuable element to our game. Over the last three years, we have endeavored to create a solid community built on transparency as we grow and evolve the ever-expanding world of Rainbow Six Siege. We are so tremendously honored to achieve this milestone, and we will continue to do everything we can to earn each and every new person that decides to play."

Our Take
This is impressive. Rainbow Six Siege didn’t have the strongest debut, but Ubisoft impressive post-release support has quietly turned this tactical shooter into a juggernaut.
