Overwatch's Uprising Event Returns As Overwatch Archives, Diving Into Lore
Blizzard has teased a return of the Overwatch Uprising event, now called Overwatch Archives, as a yearly event that delves into the game's lore before the modern era of Overwatch.
Announced today in part of a developer video with Jeff Kaplan, not much is known about what Archives will entail, but we can look forward to whatever Overwatch Archives: Retribution, a name they let slip, might mean. Last year, Overwatch Uprising told the story of Tracer's first mission against Null Sector and the introduction of rogue omnics.

Assuming Archives follows the same pattern as Uprising, a new bit of lore should come to light as well as another PvE scenario. A teaser last week indicates Blackwatch might be involved, as well. We should find out more as we get closer to the spring event, however.
Our Take
I'm interested to see more of the Overwatch past story, but I wasn't a huge fan of the Tracer mission. I wonder if, and hope, they have something a bit stronger this year.
