The lights are on
2018 is here, and has been here for nearly two months. Already it's strong year as far as video game releases go with Monster Hunter: World as well as the indie trio that struck out of nowhere: Celeste, Crossing Souls, and Iconoclasts.
And yet I'm sure many of us are still playing through games from last year, trying to finish them before they fall into our backlogs, doomed to remain unfinished forever. For me, right now, my white whale is Assassin's Creed Origins. It's a beautiful game that I've plugged 20 hours into and feel like I'm constantly getting my progress halted by other releases. But I will finish this one! I swear it!
What about you, readers?

Horizon Zero Dawn, Breath of the Wild, Prey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Wolfenstein 2, Nier, and I’m sure there’s a few I’m missing.
Yakuza 0, horizon zero dawn, persona 5, evil within 2, wolfestein 2, torment tides of numenara, breath of the wild, mario odessey, xenoblade 2
Just a bunch I haven't bought yet or just recently.
Fractured But Whole and Halo Wars 2 :D
Surprisingly I have managed to play the 2017 games that I really want to. Going back further, though, is another story.
2017? Hah!! I got games from 2014 still hanging on my backlog. Right now I am doing away with dying light and GTA5. Also been getting a few bouts of original sin here and there but I already beat that game when it was out.
Shadow of War. All 5 million of those sieges at the end sure are fun, aren't they.
More than I'd care to admit on a public forum.
Jeez, there were so many games from last year. Forgot "trying to finish". It's more like "trying to get around to buying and playing".
