QuakeCon Returning In Early August; BYOC Doubling Its Size

by Robbie Key on Feb 13, 2018 at 03:45 PM

QuakeCon, an annual event put on by id Software and Bethesda Softworks, is set to return for its 23rd year.

The four-day event at Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, is a video game festival that celebrates titles from id. Bethesda usually reveals news and has playable demos for its upcoming games as well. The con also hosts the Quake World Championships. Last year, the grand prize for the tournament was a million dollars.

Additionally, QuakeCon has Bring Your Own Computer – or BYOC – which is the largest LAN party in North America. The event is doubling its size over last year. They will also re-introduce panels, presentations, and exhibits.

Quakecon 2018 is from August 9 to 12 and is free for general attendees, but anyone participating in BYOC must register in advance. Registration is not live yet, but you can bookmark the page here. Learn more about QuakeCon here.
