Venom Slings Its First Teaser Trailer
Sony has released a teaser trailer for its Spider-Man spin-off movie, Venom, starring Tom Hardy.
The teaser mostly shows Hardy, who plays Eddie Brock/Venom, being chased on foot and motorcycle, with a narrator talking about how everyone has a bad "thing" happening in their lives and how Brock is now "something else." We are also shown a government entity investigating a crash site, which is presumably where the symbiote is discovered and later put into a container. The symbiote is what attaches to Brock and transforms him into Venom, a popular character in Spider-Man comics that originally was a villain and has become an anti-hero in recent years.
Venom is slated to hit theaters October 5. It is being directed by Ruben Fleischer, director of Zombieland, and written by Scott Rosenberg, who wrote the screenplay for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. The film is not a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sony is developing another Spider-Man spin-off film that focuses on anti-hero Morbious, the Living Vampire.
