Latest Deadpool Sequel Trailer Shows Josh Brolin's Cable

by Robbie Key on Feb 07, 2018 at 12:59 PM

A new trailer for the Deadpool sequel gives us our first look at Josh Brolin as Cable in action.

The preview begins in typical, serious-toned superhero movie fashion as Brolin describes the hell his character has been through. Then in expected fashion, Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool interrupts the trailer – and takes a jab at Warner Bros. using visual effects to remove Henry Cavill's mustache in Justice League – by showing him playing with a Deadpool and Cable doll, with the former figure dressed in attire similar to Woody from Toy Story. This is probably a small nod to Disney buying much of 21st Century Fox, and includes the film rights to Deadpool.

The rest of the trailer shows various action scenes such as Cable battling heavily armored soldiers, Deadpool out of costume fighting with a frying pan, and a first look at Zazie Beetz's portrayal of Domino. Returning characters shown include Brianna Hildebrand as Negasoinc Teenage Warhead, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, and Leslia Uggams as Blind Al.

The Deadpool sequel, currently known as The Untitled Deadpool Sequel, hits theaters May 18. Reynolds also stars in the Detective Pikachu movie as the title character. Brolin stars in Avengers: Infinity Wars as the main villain, Thanos. Watch the most recent Avengers teaser here.
