Crash Bandicoot Ports Planned For Switch And PC In 2018

by Jon Bowman on Feb 05, 2018 at 02:51 PM

The N.Sane Trilogy, a remastered collection of the original Crash Bandicoot games, appears to be just the beginning of the resurgence of everyone's favorite, shirtless marsupial. According to the spring 2018 edition of the License Source Book Europe (page 97), Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is coming to Nintendo Switch and PC sometime this year, as well another title in 2019.

GB eye, a European supplier of licensed merchandise, noted that the success of the N. Sane Trilogy spurred a long-term plan for Crash Bandicoot games. "The new game [the N. Sane trilogy] was a huge success at retail ..." said Max Arguile, licensing manager of GB Eye. "Next year it will be going broader (Switch and PC) and there will be a new game in 2019. Activision have a five-year plan for this and GB eye is delighted to be fully on board for all products."

Crash Bandicoot The N. Sane Trilogy has been a successful reboot for Activision, with the company stating it has been the best-selling remastered collection for PS4. To see what we thought of this collection, check out our review.

Our Take
I'm a big fan of the idea of taking Crash Bandicoot with me on the Switch, but I'm more curious as to what the 2019 phase of Activision's five-year plan will bring. Will we be getting a brand new Crash Bandicoot game? Will Crash Team Racing get the same remaster treatment as The N. Sane Trilogy? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hoping more for the latter, but regardless, it's an exciting time to be a Crash Bandicoot fan.
