Man Accused Of Tragic Swatting Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter

Tyler Barriss, known online as SWAUtistic, has been charged in Kansas for involuntary manslaughter for his part in the murder of Andrew Finch.
As we have reported earlier, Barriss allegedly called in a report of a hostage situation on an address he believed belonged to a Call of Duty player that was arguing with another player. The address actually belonged to 28 year-old Andrew Finch, who was shot by police after answering the door. Barriss did not fight extradition from his home in Los Angeles to Wichita, Kansas, where he has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.
Barriss was charged with giving false alarm in the case as part of the reasoning to extradite him to Kansas, and has also been charged with interference with law enforcement. Involuntary manslaughter is a level 5 felony in Kansas and carries a minimum of 31 months in prison with a maximum 136 months. His bond is set at $500,000.
The officer who shot Finch is still on paid administrative leave pending investigation.
Barriss is also facing charges in Canada for a separate swatting incident targeting a woman that police say Barriss targeted because of her online persona.
