Comic publisher Marvel has revealed plans for a new animated franchise, focusing on a variety of heroes that have caught the public eye in recent years.

In a new post to the company's official website, Marvel Entertainment revealed their plans to launch a multi-platform animated franchise in 2018. Beginning with six four-minute digital shorts focused on Spider Gwen, AKA Ghost Spider, the shorts will set up a full-length animated feature titled Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors. Other heroes who have garnered popularity in recent years are planned to hold major roles, including Squirrel Girl, Ms. Marvel, Quake, Patriot, American Chavez, and Inferno. Marvel plans to release content across multiple platforms for the new franchise, but the names of the intended outlets will be released at a later time.

In addition, the company goes in depth on the different voice talents brought in for the project. In a trailer released alongside the reveal, the actors themselves dive into what makes their characters perfect for the new franchise, which can be viewed down below.
