Demon's Souls Servers Preparing To Die In February
If the Dark Souls precursor Demon's Souls is on your pile of gaming shame, you may want to get to it sooner than later. According to the game's official Twitter account, the game's online servers are going to go offline early next year.
After 9 years of reoccurring deaths and frustrations, but just as many triumphs of dedication, Demon's Souls online servers will terminate on February 28, 2018. Play online one last time, and share with us your best Demon's Souls moment! pic.twitter.com/knIgmXLqFW

While you'll still be able to play the game even without the online functionality intact, it'll be a different experience. You won't be able to read notes (helpful and otherwise) from other players or see their in-game ghosts, for instance.
Our Take
It's sad to see it go, but there's always the possibility of a remaster or updated version sometime down the line.
