A World Of Final Fantasy Sequel Is Coming To Mobile In Japan Later This Year

by Cody Mello-Klein on Nov 20, 2017 at 11:30 AM

As revealed by Gematsu, World of Final Fantasy: Meli-Melo, a sequel to 2016's World of Final Fantasy, is coming to Japanese mobile players later this year. World of Final Fantasy: Meli-Melo will keep its predecessor's turn-based combat system, character-stacking mechanics, and chibi art style, while shifting the action to the world of Valgallen.

Developed by Drecom, Meli-Melo is designed to be a much more casual experience for Android and iOS players. Other than a new world to explore, the sequel also features co-op for players who want to explore Valgallen together and a story told through manga-style art.

World of Final Fantasy: Meli-Melo launches in Japan on Android and iOS later this year. However, based on the fact that previous Final Fantasy mobile games have made their way to North America, there's a decent chance the rest of us can expect a version of Meli-Melo at some point down the road. Meanwhile, check out our review of the original World of Final Fantasy here.
