Breath Of The Wild's Opening Plateau Recreated Through Mario Maker

by Imran Khan on Nov 13, 2017 at 02:28 PM

Over at GameXplain, Andre Segers has remade the Breath of the Wild's Great Plateau in Super Mario Maker partly as a goodbye to Miiverse.

The video, which you can see below, shows Andre playing through his level using multiple Link costumes and trying to make Breath of the Wild's first few shrines make sense in Mario Maker's mechanics.

"It was a bit of a nightmare trying to figure out how to translate the ideas and mechanics of an open world 3D game into a side-scrolling platformer (especially when it came to the runes!)," Andre told us, "Particularly as the Super Mario Bros. theme I used is the most limited of the bunch! But I think it shows how few hard limits there really are in Super Mario Maker that don't have some creative workaround, and I hope it can inspire other level creators out there! With that said, here's hoping for a proper Legend of Zelda Maker someday."

Check out the video below and see his creative solutions for making the puzzles make sense in Mario Maker's seemingly most limited toolset.
