Blizzard Plans Free Overwatch Weekend Later This Month

by George Ash on Nov 10, 2017 at 11:43 AM

Overwatch has more than 35 million players already, but not everyone has succumbed to its allure. To entice those who haven't tried out the popular competitive shooter yet, Blizzard plans to host a free weekend later this month.

Starting Friday, November 17 at 1 p.m. CST,\ PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC users will be able to jump into quickplay and arcade games, as well as set up custom games or practice against AI. People just joining for the weekend won’t have access to Overwatch’s competitive mode, but any progress made and loot boxes opened will stick around if they decide to purchase the game.

This free weekend will be a great time to decide if the game is for you before Blizzard releases the new hero and map they unveiled at Blizzcon.

The free weekend is set to end Monday, November 20 at 1:59 a.m. CST.
