Sonic Forces Launch Trailer Shows Action-Packed Gameplay
Sega dropped a launch trailer for Sonic Forces today in advance of the game’s release tomorrow. The short video shows clips of gameplay from the game, including 2D side-scrolling sections featuring Classic Sonic, and his counterpart Modern Sonic navigating less traditional 3D environments.
The trailer also features many of Sonic’s allies that will be in the game (including the custom hero), as well as Dr. Eggman and his villainous friends.
Sonic Forces launches tomorrow on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC for $39.99. Last month we posted an interview with the game's producer, so be sure to check that out to see what changes are in store for the series this time around.
Our Take
The more gameplay we see before a game releases, the better. That's especially true with modern Sonic games, which don't always stick the landing. Hopefully the Sonic Team can run with the momentum from the recent indie-developed Sonic Mania, which we reviewed in August and thought was worth checking out.
