This Destiny 2 Raid Team Figured Out How To Cheese The Boss By Cheating Death

by Imran Khan on Oct 05, 2017 at 06:09 PM

This story obviously contains spoilers for Destiny 2's first raid.

During Destiny 2's Leviathan raid, one team came across a nasty glitch that made its final boss a walk in the park.

The fireteam involved, players from a clan from The Modfather Gaming, put up a video of a thus far unconfirmed glitch that prevents enemies from spawning in the final boss room. Essentially what happens is that, when the team shoots the chalice out of Calus' hands to begin the fight, one player will get immediately crushed by Calus' foot. After some very specific positioning, a player goes to change characters in the menus, and waits for the raid reset screen to fade to black before confirming. Correct timing leads to respawning in the room with no enemies to fight except a defenseless Calus.

The glitch seemingly works by manipulating Destiny 2's death and respawn mechanics to mess with what the game expects is supposed to happen in those instances. Check out the video below and let us know if you consider cheesing something fair game or against the spirit of the game.
