Remothered: Tormented Fathers Early Access Release Date Announced
Darril Arts and Stormind Games' Remothered: Tormented Fathers, an upcoming survival horror game, is heading to Early Access on Steam for $12.99 as of October 31. It will remain in Early Access for a few months up until its official release.
Remothered: Tormented Fathers puts you in the shoes of a woman named Rosemary, who is investigating the death of a young girl. She heads to a manor owned by a retired notary, who is connected to the case and has secrets to hide. When Rosemary reveals her true intentions, all hell breaks loose, and she must find a way to escape the mansion unharmed.
To do so, you have to solve puzzles, evade stalker enemies (without the ability to fight them off outside of some quicktime events), and explore the home for pertinent clues. Audio cues notify the player that a stalker is near, and once that happens, your only choices are to run or hide.
Remothered: Tormented Fathers is the first entry of a planned trilogy, and it will release a few months after this early access period. Following early access, the game will come to PS4 as well.
Our Take
I've played a beta version of Remothered: Tormented Fathers and was intrigued by the story, but was less enthused about the gameplay surrounding chases and evading enemies. Early Access is a weird spot between beta and official release, where developers can still tweak the game and listen to feedback from players. I just hope that Remothered doesn't stay in Early Access for too long, like many do, and still manages to take enough time to smooth out the experience.
