NBA 2K18 Slashes Virtual Currency Prices After Backlash
NBA 2K18 has a lot of virtues, but players have been finding its virtual currency prices is not one of them. A backlash against the price of certain things that use the virtual currency has forced 2K Games to reconsider the costs.
As an example, a haircut originally cost 1500 VC with no previews for how it looks before committing. The high price combined with the chance that you will simply not like how the haircut looks made players feel like it was designed to make them run out of virtual currency and be forced to buy more. Personalization options like haircuts, facial hair, and coloring are now down to 100 VC each, 6.6% of the original cost.
While it is unlikely to ever get fully removed based on how integrated it is in the game, it is quite a bit better than before.
