Minecraft Comes To Nintendo 3DS

by Jeff Cork on Sep 13, 2017 at 05:10 PM

Nintendo announced during its latest Direct that Minecraft was coming to the 3DS. If you’re impatient, you won’t have to wait long, either– the Minecraft New Nintendo 3DS edition will be available digitally today, with a retail version of the game coming out later.

The 3DS version of the popular game includes five skin packs and a pair of texture packs. Players will be able to use the system’s touchscreen for inventory, crafting, and for accessing the map. The announcement didn’t mention the special Nintendo-themed world that was featured on the Switch and Wii U versions of the game.

With this release, Minecraft is essentially available on everything that has a screen or can be connected to one, including the (deep breath) PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita, PC, iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Raspberry Pi.
