PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Sells More Than 10 Million Units
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds continues to hit impressive numbers, with word that the Battle Royale-style game has sold more than 10 million units since its Steam Early Access release in March. And not only are people buying the game, but an awful lot of players are actually playing it, too.
A few weeks ago, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds topped Steam's current list of games ranked by player count. Its total of nearly 878,000 players put it at the top of the current list, above games including Dota 2 and Counter-Strike GO. That number has climbed even higher. While its new high of more than 970,000 doesn't edge it past the all-time concurrent-player count – an honor that was set by Dota 2 with 1,291,328 in March 2016 – it's inching closer.
Bluehole held a PUBG Invitational at Gamescom, and the publisher says 92 players from 19 countries across the globe competed in the game. Peak Twitch viewership reached 536,000 on the first day, and PandaTV (a Chinese competitor) saw 5.6 million peak viewers.

It's going to be interesting to see how Xbox One players take to the game. Will console players flock to it in the same way, or are the console/PC mindsets completely different?
