The Jackbox Party Pack 4's Newest Game Will Test Your Doodling Skills

by Jeff Marchiafava on Aug 24, 2017 at 06:48 PM

Jackbox Games has announced the fourth mini-game in its upcoming party pack, and it will challenge players to draw a beautiful mural together. Oh who are we kidding? We all know what you're going to draw.

Civic Doodle tasks players with creating a mural together by drawing and voting on different additions over multiple rounds. Each round, two players are chosen to add to something to the mural in a given amount of time. The rest of the group then votes on their favorite version, which then becomes the base drawing for the next round. After the final round, players are tasked with coming up with a name for the crazy collage, and the player who won the most votes over the entire round is crowned the winner. After creating multiple murals, the final round plays out a bit differently. This time around, everyone (instead of just two at a time) helps complete a portrait to be hung in the town hall of Doodle Valley, drawing their versions of eyes, nose, mouth, etc., one facial feature at a time. Players once again vote on their favorites after each step, leading to a gradually more complex picture. You can see the mode in action in Jackbox Games' archived stream.

In addition to Civic Doodle, The Jackbox Party Pack 4 will contain Fibbage 3, Survive The Internet, Monster Seeking Monster, and one more unannounced mini-game, which you can read explanations of by clicking the links. Jackbox Games hasn't announced a release date for The Jackbox Party Pack 4 yet, but says the game is "getting closer," which is good enough for us.

Our Take
I've always enjoyed the Jackbox Party Pack games, and Civic Doodles looks like it will beat the pants off of Pictionary. Even if most murals will inevitably devolve into players drawing certain body parts everywhere.
