Swery Fundraising New 'Mystery RPG' The Good Life On Fig

Hidetaka Suehiro (better known as Swery and for cult classic Deadly Premonition, as well as D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die) is fundraising his next game, called The Good Life, on Fig.

The Good Life, which is billed as a "Mystery RPG," is set in Rainy Woods and follows a photographer named Naomi, who stumbles into the rural England town only to find that all of its residents (including her) turn into cats at nightime. Players will be able to explore Rainy Woods during both day and night, and certain parts of the town can only be accessed while Naomi is a cat.

According to Swery, the game will be very much in the vein of Deadly Premonition. "It's a mystery game based on the framework of a 'daily life RPG.'" the developer says in the blog post announcing the fundraising campaign. "I'm positive that the happiest town in the world and the most bizarre townspeople in the world will capture your heart and pull you deep into their world."

Our Take
The art screams Professor Layton, and the idea of that art style fused with Swery's penchant for the absurd and personal sounds like a blast. I'm into it.
