Redesigned Xbox Wireless Adapter Delayed

by Matthew Kato on Aug 15, 2017 at 09:35 AM

Microsoft's Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 PCs was supposed to be out already, but the company has delayed the device into 2018.

The adapter ($24.99) lets PC gamers hook up to eight Xbox controllers wirelessly at once. There is a device that currently does this, but the new product is smaller.

The company's web store lists a new release date of January 31, 2018, which could be placeholder. You can get it before then, however, if you live outside of the U.S. or Canada. Regions like Japan and Australia are getting it this fall.

Our Take
It's not an essential device, but the news is disappointing nevertheless. It's strange that the device is clearly being manufactured and is ready to go, but has been pulled from specific territories.
