Netflix Buys Creator-Owned Comic Publisher Millarworld

by Ben Reeves on Aug 07, 2017 at 12:46 PM

Streaming media giant Netflix recently announced it has purchased Mark Millar’s comic book publishing house, Millarworld.

Mark Millar first made a name for himself working in the comic industry on titles like The Authority, The Ultimates, and Marvel Comic's first Civil War event.

In 2004, Millar launched the creator-owned line called Millarworld, which published books like Wanted, Chosen, and Jupiter's Legacy (pictured). Unfortunately, Netflix won’t have access to properties like Kick-Ass or Kingsman: The Secret Service since those rights are cutrently locked up in motion picture deals, but Netflix will have plenty of other popular comic properties to work with.

Millarworld plans to continue to publish new comics even under the new Netflix ownership.
