The galaxy-consuming Dormammu and the swooping annoyance Firebrand, both coincidentally nemeses to bearded heroes Dr. Strange and Arthur, have been confirmed to join the roster of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

The confirmation comes from the cover of the next Spider-Man vs. Deadpool issue variant cover, releasing on August 2nd. The cover shows Dormammu fighting off the fire fiend Firebrand under a bright moon. Alongside the cover reveal, Marvel confirmed that gameplay of the two returning characters in action will be shown at Gamescom in Germany on August 22nd.

Dormammu and Firebrand round out the list of confirmed characters to thirty. A rumored leak last month on the character roster confirmed a number of characters that had yet to be announced, but did not mention either Firebrand or Dormammu.

Our Take
Despite Jedah and Gamora being shown off at EVO last month, Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite is still looking very similar to the previous game with its character choices. Marvel and Capcom have announced six characters since then and all of them have been returning characters from Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Hopefully they're not saving new characters for DLC.
